Students feature in local theatre’s production of Robin Hood

Three dancers from The Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College were on stage from Friday 12th January, until Sunday 21st January, in Rugby Theatre’s recent production ‘Robin Hood and His Merry Men’.

The pantomime which followed the traditional story of Robin Hood who, following his return from the crusades, is dealing with the Sheriff of Nottingham and his henchmen. Throughout the family show the audience were encouraged to boo, clap and cheer to their heart’s content.

Year 7 students, and performing arts enthusiasts, Liliya Herring, Ellie-Mae Storey and Chelsea Hughes from The Avon Valley School featured in the show as dancers.

Alison Davies, Headteacher, said, “It is wonderful to hear that these three girls have been dancing in a show at the local theatre. Two of the three students gained a place at our school through our performing arts admissions process and it is lovely to see them using their talent on stage.”
